Thursday, February 15. 2001: Montreal pitcher Javier Vazquez lost his salary arbitration case Thursday, leaving owners with a 6-4 lead with 11 cases still to be argued. Vazquez will get a raise from $280,000 to $2 million, under the decision by arbitrators Richard Bloch, Jerome Ross and Alan Symonette.

Acquired Ryan Minor from the Baltimore Orioles for minor league pitcher Jorge Julio.

Agreed to a minor league contract with 41-year-old outfielder Tim Raines.

Acquired 3B Fernando Tatis and reliever Britt Reames from the St.Louis Cardinals for pitchers Dustin Hermanson and Steve Kline.

Unconfirmed reports have a group of Montreal-based film producers reportedly ready to make an offer to purchase the downtown land on which the Expos were to have built their new stadium.
